I found a great way to name characters and create plots. They both will give you random names/items or plot ideas! It's a great exercise to write short stories using the plot lines they gave you. Not only that, but it's fun!
For example, I have to write about a quiet guinea pig that went crazy...hmm...
Once there was a guinea pig named Eberto.
Eberto was a good guinea pig. He ate his pellets and used his chips accordingly. He even ran on his spinning wheel, to stay thin and attractive for anyone that might want to take him home.
Unfortunately, no one wanted Eberto. Especially when they saw how much he ran on his wheel (apparently people don't like busy-body guinea pigs, especially when they are trying to sleep).
After four months (four years to him) of living in the pet shop, he began to feel unloved (he was a very insecure guinea pig).
And the stupid Snake in the tank next to him told him so.
"Why are you alwaysss here?" The Snake hissed.
"Why are you always here to monitor me being always here?" Eberto replied.
"No one wantssss you." The Snake said (he always was the bully type of snake, ever since his mom bit someone and they squashed her skull with a shovel).
What the snake said really cut deep into poor Eberto's soul. He wanted to be loved.
That was the turning point for him.
After that he constantly ran on his wheel. CONSTANTLY! He never stopped, not even for his pellets!
And so, poor Eberto suffered from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and insecurity.
Poor guinea pig.
Having all those disorders was just to much for him. One minute he's running like mad on his wheel, the next he's collapsed into his chips, drooling.
Eberto had gone bonkers.
Good news, though. Despite being mentally challenged, Eberto finally got a home because he never got on his wheel (basically he just sat there and drooled. But his owners loved him for it!)
